Career Options

Accountants develop and apply their skills in auditing, taxation, forensic accounting, management policy, information systems, consulting, personal business planning, and many other areas. Because of the importance of accounting to organizations, and the wide range of valuable skills accountants possess, a high percentage of executives (CEOs, CFOs etc.) have accountancy-related educational and professional backgrounds. Average starting compensation for careers in accountancy: $61,926 + $3,611 Signing bonus.


  • I chose Accountancy as my major because it provides a foundational understanding of how and why business decisions are made. Today as a consultant for KPMG, I am able to use my accounting knowledge to help my clients create innovative solutions that make financial sense.
