Build Healthier Communities
The Human Biology and Health Sciences concentration of the B. S. in Applied Biology focuses on coursework that prepares you for health-related careers in medicine, dentistry or veterinary science, or employment within biomedical sciences companies and agencies. Students may be simultaneously admitted to both this program and the Masters in Athletic Training.
Curriculum and Courses
Students complete a full curriculum in biology while also earning a 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration certification in their sophomore year and a 40-hour professional certification in their senior year.

For students interested in a career in athletic training, we offer pathways combining our BS in Applied Biology and the Master of Athletic Training.
Pre-Professional Schools
As part of this program, students can take all of the prerequisites for medical, dental veterinary, or pharmacy school.
Internships and Research
Students can complete internships with medical organizations (hospitals, medical device or pharmaceutical companies) or public health agencies.
Students can collaborate on research with biology faculty and graduate students
