Add an Endorsement to Your Teaching License

The Computer Science Endorsement allows a teacher to become certified within the state of Ohio to teach computer science subjects at the grades PK-12. Students eligible for the Computer Science endorsement must be enrolled in an educator preparation program.

Curriculum and Courses

Candidates completing the Computer Science Endorsement at Miami University progress through a sequence of 5 computer science courses (i.e., CSE coursework) and a teaching methods course in their area of study. For instance, future Primary Education (PK5) school teachers completing the CS Endorsement will enroll in TCE 318P. Each teaching methods course includes a lesson planning component that requires all teacher candidates to plan and teach computer science lessons/units using effective and engaging practices and methodologies.
