This minor is open to any non-business major with the exception of Engineering Management. It focuses on the management of human and non-human resources. Management is designed for majors in the College of Arts and Science, the College of Education, Health, and Society, and the College of Engineering and Computing. Students are required to take two courses for this minor during the summer or winter. (18 semester hours)
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult with the chief departmental adviser. This minor is not available to business majors or students majoring in Engineering Management. Admission to most Farmer School of Business minors is limited and the respective departments are responsible for managing their enrollments. Students may enroll in a maximum of two Farmer School of Business minors. Students may enroll in only one Management Department minor (Human Capital Management and Leadership, Management, or Supply Chain Management). Some minors are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis while others have entry restrictions or requirements. Therefore, to increase the likelihood of gaining entry into a FSB minor, interested students should contact the department offering the minor as early as possible in their academic careers. Completion of a FSB minor may require taking coursework during summer and winter terms and/or online. The Management Minor requires students to take MGT291 and MGT302 during summer or winter term. Students may take MGT 211 in place of MGT 291; this class is offered in fall and spring.
