This minor prepares students for a career in marketing or as part of a business decision-making team. The modern global society is placing an increasing emphasis on marketing knowledge and related skills. Global and domestic corporations' manufacturing, distribution, and buying and selling operations significantly shape the standard of living and the global economy. This is true for both for-profit and not-for-profit institutions and supply chains. (22 semester hours)
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Because of enrollment limits, the marketing minor requires students to submit an application in the fall term of their second year (or fall term within three semesters of transfer for transfer students). The minor application is posted to the Marketing Department website during the fall semester. Students planning to take this minor should contact the department below as soon as possible. This minor is open to all university students. Admission to most Farmer School of Business minors is limited and the respective departments are responsible for managing their enrollments. Students may enroll in a maximum of two Farmer School of Business minors. Some minors are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis while others have entry restrictions or requirements. Therefore, to increase the likelihood of gaining entry into a FSB minor, interested students should contact the department offering the minor as early as possible in their academic careers. Completion of a FSB minor may require taking coursework during summer and winter terms and/or online.
