Our on-campus skills workshop provides hands-on training in crucial clinical skills such as pelvic exams, suturing, casting, and incision and drainage procedures. This skills workshop is essential to the FNP program experience and is included in the student’s tuition and fees.

Additionally, our program seamlessly integrates certification test preparation throughout the FNP curriculum in collaboration with Advanced Practice Education Associates (APEA). This comprehensive strategy ensures that students thoroughly prepare for their certification exams, positioning them to successfully enter their careers as advanced practice nurses.
Additional Opportunities

Doctor of Nursing Practice
The Miami DNP provides a pathway for the two newly proposed MSN degree tracks to seamlessly progress into a terminal DNP degree. The post master’s DNP is designed to build upon prior learning acquired through an MSN program. The focus of Miami’s DNP program is to prepare advanced practice nurses for roles in organizational/systems leadership, and innovative and evidence-based approaches for increasingly complex leadership roles.

Nurse Leadership and Management Microcredential
In as little as one year, nurses learn the foundations of leadership and collaboration and are armed with tools to navigate organizational change and manage conflict, risk, and crisis. During this three-course, 100% online program, nurses also get the tools to improve patient care outcomes through data and budget management.

MSN-MBA Dual Degree
In less than three years, you can concurrently earn your M.S. in Nursing degree alongside an online Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Miami’s Farmer School of Business.
Admission Overview
Our straightforward admission process is the first step in achieving your personal and professional goals. Complete applications will be reviewed as they are received.
Minimum Criteria to be Considered for Admission:
- Resident of OH, IL, IN, KY
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- BSN from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing school by start of MSN program
- Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale from BSN institution
- A current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state you are practicing in before the start of the MSN program
- Eligibility to obtain an active RN license in any other state required for clinical experiences
Note: FNP track students must have completed 1,000 hours of RN clinical experience before starting their first clinical/practicum course (offered in the first summer session of the program for full-time students).

- CV or resume
- Two letters of academic or professional references from faculty members, professional colleagues, or work supervisors who can evaluate your potential for success in a graduate program. At least one of your recommenders must hold a master’s or higher degree.
