Methods of statistics are used more and more in decision making and data analysis in business and industry. Moreover, basic research in the biological, management, and social sciences, as well as in some areas of humanities, is becoming increasingly statistical in nature. As a result, demand for persons knowledgeable in the science of statistics is on the rise. This minor provides a program suitable for students with good mathematical abilities. (18 semester hours)

A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult with the chief departmental adviser. This minor is not available to majors in Statistics or Mathematics and Statistics.
