The Undergraduate TESOL endorsement certificate program at Miami provides teacher candidates the knowledge, skills, and experiences that will prepare them to meet the challenge of teaching English learners in their own classroom or as TESOL specialists.

Curriculum and Courses
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Undergraduate Endorsement Certificate provides undergraduate teacher licensure candidates the knowledge, skills, and experiences that will prepare them to meet the challenges of English language learners in their classrooms. The TESOL endorsement consists of a three-course focus sequence, and a field-based teaching practicum experience with English learners in the schools. Open to all teacher licensure majors.

- TCE 454/554: TESOL in PK-12 Instructional Theory and Practice(Fall and Spring semesters)
- TCE 425: TESOL in PK-12 English Literacy Development (Spring semester only)
- TCE 418: TESOL in PK-12 Practicum (Fall and Spring semesters)
In-service teachers can add the graduate TESOL endorsement in one calendar year by taking mostly online courses and working with students in their own classrooms or school.
The Teacher Education Access at Miami (TEAM) Scholarship provides a discount on graduate tuition and fees for Ohio PreK-12 Educators.More info
Through the Department of Education ¡PELEA! Fight! grant, Miami University provides scholarships to teachers in Cincinnati Public and other schools served by the Hamilton County Educational Services Center. Scholarships are awarded through an application process.
