Miami University’s Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP), is an innovative online degree with experiential learning at premier zoos, botanical gardens, and conservation organizations across the U.S.
AIP master’s candidates also have the unique option to integrate once-in-a-lifetime international field study into their coursework by choosing from Earth Expeditions courses in Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas.

Admission Overview
Project Dragonfly’s master’s programs welcome a diverse community of learners from many different backgrounds and experiences. Whether you are a recent college graduate, someone returning to school after many years, or a professional working in non-profit education, business, or government settings, these programs are designed to support your growth and goals. Anyone who holds a bachelor’s degree—regardless of their undergraduate major—and is passionate about improving human and ecological communities is encouraged to apply.
Application Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.75 GPA
- University level Biology Course with a final grade of B- or above
- Curriculum vitae
- Two letters of recommendation
- Two essay questions
- English Proficiency Test Scores:
- TOEFL – 80
- IELTS – 6.5
- No GRE required
Transfer Credits
Only the following credits are transferable into the AIP or GFP:
- Up to 7 credits from a past Earth Expeditions field course (with an earned grade of B or higher) may be applied.
- Up to 7 credits from past AIP W+ courses taken through Miami University may be applied.
Note: No other credits can be transferred into either program
