Study the science behind better health through hands-on laboratory learning, research, and real-world experience. The Human Biology & Health Sciences concentration in Applied Biology prepares you for careers in healthcare and biomedical sciences and for graduate and professional programs in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, and other healthcare professions. Students may be simultaneously admitted to both this program and the Masters in Athletic Training.

The applied biology program combines rigorous coursework in biology, chemistry, and also offers hands-on research opportunities. The microbiology, physiology, and biochemistry classes are directly applicable to the material I will be studying in pharmacy school. Aside from the classroom studies, the focus on critical thinking and problem-solving are helping me to develop the skills that are needed to understand intricate drug mechanisms and patient care scenarios.
