Explore Culture and Society Through Film
The Film Studies minor at Miami University gives you the opportunity to explore the relationship between film, culture, and society through interdisciplinary coursework. As a minor, you’ll study film history and film theory and choose four additional courses in areas such as film genres, directors, national cinemas, and film production to match your academic and creative interests.
Eligibility
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit).
Film Studies Minor Curriculum and Courses
The Film Studies minor is 18 hours comprised of 2 core courses, FST 201 (Film History and Analysis) and FST 401 (Seminar in Film Study) and 12 hours of elective courses some of which are listed below.
