Geography Minors Transform Global Insights into Local Action
If you’re interested in how people, places, and environments are connected, the Geography and Environmental Science co-major or minor offers an interdisciplinary foundation that blends social and natural sciences. Students examine climate change, sustainability, resource management, and urban development while learning how global environmental challenges impact local communities. Coursework emphasizes earth systems, environmental processes, and human-environment interactions.
Students also develop career-ready skills in geospatial analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and spatial data interpretation. These tools are widely used in environmental consulting, urban planning, sustainability, government, and nonprofit work. Whether pursuing graduate study or entering the workforce, this program prepares you to analyze environmental change and apply data-driven solutions to real-world problems.
