Study the Science of Horticulture
If you’re interested in plants, sustainability, landscaping, greenhouse management, food systems, or environmental science, the Horticulture minor at Miami University is a flexible and practical way to expand your knowledge and career options.
As a student, this minor gives you a strong foundation in horticulture principles, plant science, and related applied fields — without requiring you to major in Botany or Biology. It’s designed to complement many different majors.
Eligibility
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult with the lead departmental adviser.
Double-counting courses
A student majoring in either Biology, B.A./B.S. or Botany, B.A./B.S. can only count 10 credit hours from the Horticulture minor towards the major.
