The Intercultural Communication for Spanish-Speaking Professionals Microcredential builds upon your intermediate understanding of Spanish language and instills a level of professionalism essential to excelling in today’s diverse work environment. Throughout the program, you will critically analyze intercultural communication norms, common barriers to successful exchanges, and strategies for effective cross-cultural collaboration. While primary emphasis is placed on settings within Latin American and Hispanic cultures, you will cultivate your broader intercultural skills by exploring variations in communication styles, the dynamic nature of social and cultural identities, and the shaping of modern-day cultures through historical events and popular media. By the end of the program, you will be able to leverage cultural awareness to navigate cross-cultural communication challenges with confidence and ease.
Transferable skills include intercultural competence, interpersonal communication, and critical thinking.
This is a stackable Microcredential; to earn this credential, the Intercultural Communication for Spanish-Speaking Professionals Pathway must be successfully completed with a C- or higher, which includes the following courses:
- SPN 202 – Second-Year Spanish (3) OR
- SPN 311 – Modern Communication and Culture (3)
- STC 236 – Intercultural Communication (3)
