Influence Student Lives
Teaching requires knowledge about the characteristics of learners, social structures of schools, families and communities, assessment techniques, classroom practices, law, statistics, technology, curriculum, and resources. Students will investigate this knowledge and combine it with extensive experiences in a variety of schools.
Curriculum and Courses
You’ll choose two licensure areas from Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies as your concentrations to make up 37-45 of your required credit hours. In addition, a few of the courses taken by all middle childhood majors include:
- EDP 256 Psychology of the Exceptional Learner
- TCE 252M Early Field Experience for Middle Childhood Education
- EDL 318M Teacher Leadership and School Organization
- TCE 346M Reading Instruction for Middle Grades
