Decoding the Molecules of Life
The Molecular Biology Minor at Miami University offers an in-depth, interdisciplinary study of biological processes at the molecular level. Offered collaboratively by the Departments of Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Microbiology, this 18-credit hour program allows you to explore how DNA, RNA, proteins, and cellular systems function and interact. You’ll gain hands-on knowledge and a strong scientific foundation in modern molecular and cellular biology.

Eligibility
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students can declare the minor at either the BIO, CHM, or MBI department.
Molecular Biology Minor Curriculum and Courses
This interdisciplinary minor requires courses from Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Microbiology. One laboratory course is needed to complete this minor or earn at least two credits of departmentally approved directed research in molecular biology. Several of the courses are listed below:
