If you are not majoring in Political Science, the Political Science minor at Miami University gives you the opportunity to explore politics and government, strengthen your major, and build career-ready skills. This minor complements a wide range of majors and helps students develop critical thinking, research, and analytical skills valued in careers such as law, public service, policy analysis, business, journalism, and graduate study.

This minor requires 21 semester hours.
Eligibility
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses for the minor must be taken for a grade. Students planning to take this minor should consult with the lead departmental adviser.
This minor is not available to students with a major in the Department of Political Science.
Curriculum and Courses
Upon completion of the core course, POL 241 (American Political System), students choose from a list of electives while meeting upper level course requirements. Several of the elective courses are listed below:
