Enhance the Performance of Sport Participants
The on-campus Sport Psychology Certificate investigates the psychological and social factors that influence sport and physical activity participation.
Sport psychology involves the study of human thought, emotion, and behavior in recreational and competitive sport.
Curriculum and Courses
This certificate includes the study of individual processes such as motivational orientations, self-efficacy, and stress/anxiety, as well as social factors such as group processes, coaching, and leadership effectiveness. It requires the completion of 12 graduate credits (4 courses). Students may be degree-seeking students or Continuing Graduate Study (CGS) students. Upon completion, a Graduate Certificate in Sport Psychology will be noted on the student’s transcript.

To apply for the Sport Management Graduate Certificate, you’ll need:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- Undergraduate transcript
Miami Graduate
Current and newly admitted Miami graduate students (including combined degree students) can apply using the graduate certificate form. Students must be admitted to the certificate program before taking courses for certification.
Current Students
If you are not a current Miami graduate student and are interested in a Certificate, submit an online graduate application. Select Graduate or Post-Baccalaureate Certificate on page 1, and pay the $20 application fee.
