Become a Well-Rounded Artist
The Studio Art Minor allows you to choose a single focused medium (discipline-specific focus) or you may explore a varied range of media (media survey focus).
Explore and develop concepts, techniques, materials, methods, and critical aesthetic thinking as applied to any of the traditional fine arts disciplines, including Ceramics, Jewelry Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and/or Sculpture.
The discipline-specific focus encourages a depth of exploration, a deeper development of skill, processes, and techniques, and a deeper understanding of the conceptual, cultural, and historical considerations relevant to a particular media.
The media survey focus allows the student to explore a broader range of traditional fine arts media, while still encouraging some depth within one particular artistic medium.
