Students who complete the Writing for Health and Medicine Microcredential are skilled in essential writing and communication strategies for professional settings. Through the three required courses, students will practice professional writing, explore medical writing genres for various audiences, study health and risk communications, and analyze community health campaigns. After completion, students will have finalized a health communication campaign project. In addition, they will complete a report on the writing and communication involved in health and medicine.
Transferable skills include oral and written expression, complex problem solving, and social perceptiveness.
This is a stackable Microcredential; to earn this credential, the Writing for Health and Medicine Pathway must be successfully completed with a C- or higher, which includes the following courses:
- APC 201 – Introduction to Health and Risk Communication (3)
- EGS 215 – Workplace Writing (3)
- EGS/ENG 319 – Medical Writing (3)
These courses are online asynchronous; there are no requirements to come to campus.
