From Italy to Industry
The Italian Studies minor at Miami University offers students a gateway to Italy’s rich culture and global influence—past and present. Through courses in Italian language, literature, history, art, cinema, and opera, students gain the skills to engage with modern Italy while exploring its deep cultural roots and evolving multicultural identity.
Through the integrated study, students learn about diverse perspectives and develop skills in creative and critical thinking.
Eligibility
To earn this minor, students complete 18 semester hours (6 courses) at the 200 level or above and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Study Abroad
You will have the opportunity to fulfill minor requirements in our faculty-led winter term workshops in Florence and Milan, Italy and/or our summer workshop in Reggio Emilia, Italy, which also fulfill the Miami Plan global perspectives requirement.
