Hands-On Cybersecurity
This unique major provides students with hands-on experience building and defending computer networks using state-of-the-art simulations, attack and defend (red-team/blue-team) exercises, and a real-world capstone course sequence. The Cybersecurity and Networking degree fits your schedule with incredibly interactive fully online courses where you work with your team to configure and defend a network or perform live penetration testing. The job outlook for cybersecurity professionals is excellent, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2021) projecting that the number of information security analyst positions will increase by 35% over the next decade. That’s seven times the average growth rate for all occupations.

Students will learn to securely configure security appliances, firewalls, routers, switches, servers, and workstations. Additionally, you will be grounded in sufficient theory to be prepared to earn highly valued professional certifications in cybersecurity and networking.
