Global Perspectives on Humanity
The Anthropology minor at Miami University offers students a flexible, interdisciplinary way to explore human communication, biology, and culture across time and around the world—without completing the full Anthropology major. Ideal for students pursuing majors and pre-professional programs in fields such as health, education, business, sustainability, law, and the sciences, the Anthropology minor adds valuable global, cross-cultural, and human-centered perspectives to any course of study. Through an 18–credit hour curriculum, students develop anthropological holism, systems and integrative thinking, and ethical awareness while strengthening skills in collaboration, communication, and applied research. The Anthropology minor helps students analyze patterns of cultural change, social inequities, and sustainable human systems, preparing them to engage effectively with diverse communities and global challenges in their academic and professional careers.
