The Applied Social Science minor helps you develop research, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities while exploring how people, groups, and communities interact. You’ll learn how to gather information, evaluate evidence, and make informed decisions in a variety of professional settings.
This minor can be completed fully online or through a combination of online and in-person courses at our Hamilton campus.

Curriculum and Courses
- Students will take a core ASO course: ASO 201 Introduction to Applied Social Research
- Three courses at the 100-level from three different disciplines (Anthropology, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology)
- Any two courses from two different disciplines at the 200-400 level in Anthropology, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology.
