Develop Specialized Expertise

The Emerging Technology in Business and Design, B.A., (ETBD) major develops skills in core areas that shape the digital age and understands how each skill informs the other.

Learn coding, design and design thinking, AI, AR, IoT, entrepreneurship, product management, communication, and marketing. Select an area of specialization and work independently in multimedia ETBD labs.

Concentrations

The ETBD Major, Digital Concentration is for students who are interested in careers / post-graduate paths where they position themselves as a digital media expert.

The ETBD Major, Applied Concentration is for students who have a second major and wish to position themselves as an expert in applying digital technology to that field.

Career Options for an ETBD Major

Subject areas include e-commerce, computational art, digital humanities, visualization, rapid prototyping, game design, physical computing, web development, game development, game studies, digital media, design thinking, interaction design, user experience design, user interface design, usability, Internet and social media marketing, virtual and augmented reality, mobile computing, and mechatronics, just to name a few active areas of interest.

Named a Forbes 30 Under 30 for 2020, Austin creates virtual reality experiences for forward-thinking brands and clients. He’s also led his company to an Emmy nomination.
