Step Into Your Power: Develop Executive-Ready Leadership Skills
The Leadership Certificate program focuses on enhancing managerial and analytical skills essential for effective decision-making. Students will gain expertise in data-driven business strategies, and leadership principles that empower them to lead teams, drive innovation, and navigate complex business challenges with confidence.
Curriculum and Courses
This flexible, three-course certificate can be completed independently or as part of an MBA degree. After completing the certificate, if you decide to continue your business studies, completed certificate courses can count toward your MBA degree.
Students can choose to take 3 courses fully online, in person at our West Chester location, or a combination of both. Each course is 3 credit hours.

MGT 644 – Leadership and Change Management
- Learn fundamental concepts of ethical leadership using frameworks developed academic and professional experience perspectives
- Understand the role of effective leadership in change management
- Adapt and apply innovative leadership concepts and techniques on a day-to-day basis
- Integrate different internal and external factors to develop cross-cultural team members into future business leaders
MGT 654 – Strategic Human Resource Management
- Describe how HR programs facilitate employee motivation and engagement
- Outline how HR programs and policies relate to organizational culture, talent development, individual and group performance, and leadership approaches
- Articulate relationships among human capital strategy, organizational strategy, and the business environment
- Understand the HR legal environment and how to leverage diversity for strategic advantage
BUS 680 – Leadership Coaching
- Examine coaching frameworks that differentiate empower change, feedback, and empowered social exchanges
- Breakdown how to build a shared vision at the individual, leader, and organizational levels central to coaching exchange dynamics.
- Develop your leader-coach personal vision and practical application skills designed around purpose, perspective, planning, progress, problems, and performance.
- Examine and practice real coaching scenarios and how they impact relationships and performance within your organization.
MKT 635 – Brand Equity Management
- Learn what is at the center of a great brand and how to identify and build the sources of a brand’s value
- Understand the metrics used to measure a brand’s performance and how to turn those measures into recommendations
- Develop customer segmentation schemes that result in “actionable” segments and brand positions that clearly communicate who the brand is for, it’s unique selling proposition, and resulting customer benefit
- Apply branding frameworks to structure problems and responses to problems
