Launch a Coaching Career in Interscholastic, Collegiate, or Professional Sport

From Olympic development to professional teams, Miami coaches lead with knowledge, integrity, and vision.
Students majoring in sport coaching may not also major in sport management or minor in coaching.
Sport Coaching Curriculum and Courses
This major prepares students to succeed in coaching interscholastic, collegiate, or professional sport.

Additional Opportunities in Sport Leadership & Management
Additional opportunities for students in the Department of Sport Leadership & Management (SLAM) are available in and out of the classroom. All SLAM majors are encouraged to be involved with the Sport Leadership and Management student club or the Women in Sport Leadership student organization.

Study Abroad in Sport
SLAM offers several sport-specific study abroad programs, including winter term in New Zealand, spring break in Europe, or a spring semester on the Luxembourg campus. Our curriculum provides a global perspective of sport to encourage SLAM students to be culturally competent global citizens.
Internship Experiences
SLAM students participate in internships with professional sports teams, the Miami University Athletic Department, sport agencies, and community recreation and sport programs.
