Future-Ready Quantum Education
Prepare for the future with a cutting-edge education in quantum computing. This interdisciplinary program—developed in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic—integrates computer science, mathematics, physics, and specialized tracks like AI, cybersecurity, and life sciences to equip students with the skills needed to solve complex problems using quantum technologies. As quantum computing revolutionizes industries and scientific discovery, students will gain a competitive edge in this transformative field, graduating ready for careers in industry, research, and beyond.
Curriculum and Courses
Miami University’s Bachelor of Science in Quantum Computing is an interdisciplinary program that combines Quantum Computing with a corresponding specialization. Students will take 124 total credit hours which includes a minimum of 91 technical credit hours for a robust foundation.
Core Technical Requirements
To build a strong technical foundation, all students complete coursework across four areas:
- Mathematics and Physics
- Fundamental Computing
- Quantum Computing
- Cybersecurity, AI/ML, and Entrepreneurship

Students further tailor their education by selecting one specialized track to deepen their expertise:

- QTM 462 Advanced Quantum Computing Applications
Students culminate the program with a Senior Design Project where they solve real problems for industry partners while building their portfolios and teamwork skills. Strong business collaborations provide companies with fresh insights and technical expertise, while students gain hands-on design experience and valuable professional connections.

Co-ops/Internships with Cleveland Clinic
Students will have the opportunity to pursue summer co-ops/internships at the Cleveland Clinic, home to the IBM Quantum System One quantum computer.
