Students pursuing the BA in English Studies develop advanced skills in writing, reading, critical and creative thinking, and problem solving. In addition to analyzing complex texts and data, students learn to write for a variety of audiences in print and digital media.

Curriculum and Courses
The BA in English Studies reflects the rich and varied nature of the discipline, allowing students to pursue coursework in literature, creative writing, professional writing and rhetoric, cultural studies, and linguistics. The flexible curriculum allows students the opportunity to pursue minors and second majors. English Studies classes are taught by our award-winning faculty who are dedicated to student success.

Career Options
Graduates have opportunities for careers in government, nonprofits, and industry, including positions in print and digital publishing, editing, content writing, corporate communication, public relations, and human resources. It is also excellent preparation for law school and graduate programs in English and Library and Information Science.
