Prepare for Medical Careers
The Premedical and Pre-Health Studies co-major at Miami University provides a strong foundation in the biological, physical, and social sciences required for admission to medical school and other healthcare graduate programs.
Students benefit from structured academic advising and integrated professional development courses designed to support success in pre-med and pre-health pathways. This co-major is completed alongside a primary major, allowing students to customize their academic and career goals in the healthcare field.
Curriculum and Courses
The Premedical Studies co-major requires only 2 additional credit hours to a normal premedical curriculum while allowing you to track their progress toward achieving your professional goals. It can be modified based on requirements for your chosen career path. You will take coursework in areas such as chemistry, biology, physics, social science, and statistics.
- PMD 101 and PMD 301 Professional Seminar Courses
- 3-4 Biology courses; additional may be recommended
- 4-5 semesters of Chemistry
- One semester of Statistics
- Two semesters of social science, which may include Psychology and Sociology
