Become a global ambassador for Miami
The Global Readiness Certificate (GRC) is designed for students of all majors who wish to position themselves strategically for employment in today’s increasingly competitive, diverse, and global workforce.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM DETAILS
A reflective, on-line application process requires student applicants to submit a brief autobiography and essay of intent. Students will receive provisional acceptance into the Certificate Program pending full attendance at the Orientation Learning Lab.
Curriculum and Courses
Category A: Coursework (14–17 credits)
- Intercultural Perspectives Course of the Global Miami Plan (3 credit minimum)
- Dual Perspectives Course from Approved List based on students major (3 credit minimum)
- Intergroup Dialogue Course
- Study Abroad/Away* (6 credit minimum)
*International Students may use their current abroad experience at Miami to fulfill this requirement.
Category B: Intercultural or Global Lectures/Programs
- 6 total programs (2 or more per semester for 3 semesters)
- Qualifying programs will be shared by the Center for American & World Cultures
Category C: Community Engagement
- 30 total hours of domestic or international service learning or sustained volunteerism
- Hours must be completed over 2 or more semesters
