Investigate the Questions and Challenges of Life
If you are not majoring in philosophy, the Philosophy and Law minor offers an interdisciplinary opportunity to study legal reasoning, philosophy of law, and political and social theory. This minor helps students develop skills in critical thinking, ethical analysis, and argumentation, making it an excellent complement to majors in the humanities, social sciences, and pre-law fields.
The Philosophy Department also periodically offers special topics and honors courses relevant to the Philosophy and Law minor. With departmental approval, these courses may be applied toward minor requirements, providing academic flexibility within the 20 semester hour program.
Eligibility
Students wishing to sign up for the minor should register their interest with the lead departmental advisor. A minimum 2.00 GPA is required for all courses in the minor, and courses must be taken for a grade, not credit/no credit. Students may only receive credit for one minor in the Department of Philosophy.
