Connect Theory to Practice
The School Leadership, M.Ed. program is designed for educators who wish to become school administrators.
The 30-credit-hour online program allows teachers to complete their master’s degree in 21 months of part-time enrollment while working full-time.
Curriculum and Courses
The School Leadership curriculum is based on the Ohio Principal Standards and the National Educational Leadership Preparation standards. The program is offered as a part-time pursuit and is fully online. Much of the coursework is connected to the students’ leadership work in their schools, which is guided by their school principal or district administrator.
A distinctive feature of the School Leadership program is the cohort system. Students are accepted in cohorts, reflecting the department’s vision of educational leadership as a collaborative process. Under the cohort system, a selected group of individuals who aspire to build leadership roles progress together through a designed program, creating networks and mutually supportive practices as they advance through their coursework.
