Where Strategy Meets Career Acceleration
The Strategic Management Graduate Certificate aims to equip students with essential skills and knowledge to excel in senior management roles or in running a business. This certificate will provide a comprehensive understanding designing and implementing strategies, making data-driven decisions, understanding economic forces and consumer demands, and learning about using major transactions to implement and adapt strategies.
The certificate is designed for aspiring leaders and graduates seeking to advance their careers in leadership roles or running a business. It caters to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including business, technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and nonprofit sectors.
Curriculum and Courses
This flexible, three-course Strategic Management certificate can be completed independently or as part of an MBA degree. After completing the certificate, if you decide to continue your business studies, completed certificate courses can count toward your MBA degree.
Students can choose to take 3 courses fully online, in person at our West Chester location, or a combination of both. Each course is 3 credit hours.

The examination of competitive forces in the marketplace and how they can be managed to deliver winning business outcomes. This course will leverage previous MBA course work to take a wholistic view of the various strategic drivers, both internal and external to a firm.

Business decisions have always been rooted in data. However, over the past decade more and more data has become available to marketers. This course details the analysis measures and methods used by leading organizations to make more precise business decisions in the 21st century.

Applied Business Valuation provides an in-depth examination of the factors that influence the value of a business. The course centers on data driven valuation techniques used in corporate finance, including mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings. Collaborative exercises require students to perform in-depth firm and industry analysis (i.e., due diligence), consider strategic positioning, solve multiple valuation problems, and communicate results to external constituencies.

Focuses on microeconomic analysis of consumers, firms, and market organization. Topics may include analysis of antitrust and regulatory issues.

Theory and practice of brand equity management in consumer and business-to-business environments. Topics include brand equity models, brand audits, brand equity leveraging and brand portfolio management. Significant emphasis is also placed on the theory and practice of integrated marketing communications.
Admission Requirements and Overview
Current Miami Students
Newly admitted Miami graduate students can apply using the graduate certificate form. Students must be admitted to the certificate program before taking courses for certification.
External Candidates
If you are not a current Miami graduate student and are interested in a Certificate, submit an online graduate application. Select Graduate or Post-Baccalaureate Certificate on page 1, and pay the $20 application fee.
