Create Theatre from Day One
In the Theatre, B.A., program, you can tailor a course of study suited to your personal interests. You may pursue general studies in theatre or specialize by taking courses in areas such as acting, design (scenic, costume, lighting), technology, directing, dramaturgy, playwriting, and more.
Miami’s Department of Theatre is an intimate community of students, faculty, and staff committed to exploring theatre and drama for personal growth and social change. We aim to Make Theatre Make a Difference, and can’t think of a better way to explore, articulate, and share our stories than through the art of theatre.

Student Content Creation
The Department of Theatre offers multiple opportunities for students to create original work. The annual Independent Artist Series is our “storefront” festival that produces student projects in a company model. The MU Fringe Festival supports new projects in all forms: dance, theatre, film and more!
