Open to all students, the Latin American, Latino/a, and Caribbean Studies (LAS) minor is a valuable complement to a wide range of majors. Students must complete at least 6 of the 18 credit hours required for the minor by way of LAS or LAS cross-listed courses. The remaining credit hours may come from additional LAS courses or courses on Latin America and Latinos offered in a number of different departments across campus. (18 semester hours)

Eligibility

A minimum 2.0 GPA is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Completion of a minor in Latin American Studies satisfies the Thematic Sequence requirement of the Global Miami Plan. You must officially enroll in the program by declaring your intent with an LAS adviser.
