Earn four teaching credentials in one degree
The Inclusive Education Major with Licensure prepares teachers in practices and methods in general education content and special education supports to teach all learners in inclusive settings. This major leads to a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and meets the requirements for Ohio licensure in the following areas:
- Primary Education PK-5
- Special Education Mild to Moderate Intervention K-12
- Special Education Moderate to Intensive Intervention K-12
- TESOL Endorsement
This program is Ohio’s only inclusive education major that meets the above licensure requirements.
Inclusive Education with Licensure Curriculum and Courses
This blended licensure program includes a continuum of classroom experiences supported by both general education and special education teachers in area public schools. We utilize a cohort-based approach to teaching methods and pedagogy, with courses on teaching reading, language arts, science, mathematics, and social studies, with universally designed practices that help you learn to teach a wide diversity of students. Some of the courses you will take in this major include:
- EDP 201 Human Development and Learning in Social and Educational Contexts
- DST 272 Exploring Disability Studies
- EDP 428 Phonological Awareness and Phonics
- EDP 458 Inclusive Methods I: Moderate/Intensive
- EDP 460 Capstone: Data-Based Decision-Making and Intervention
