Promote Healthy Communities
Nutritionists use health science to study human metabolism. With concentrations in dietetics or community nutrition, you’ll discover a foundation for multiple career paths, including business, public policy, allied health, and corporate wellness. Research nutritional trends, and learn how to apply data to promote health across communities.
Curriculum and Courses
Students in this major complete one of two concentrations, Community Nutrition or Dietetics, which fulfills the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) the accrediting body for our Didactic Dietetics Program requirements. A few of the courses you will take in this major include:

State-of-the-art Laboratories
In our labs, prepare and analyze food with equipment designed to/for test food texture, macro/micro nutrient content, vitamin analyses, etc. You will also learn how specific ingredients, packaging, processes and environments influence the sensory properties of foods.
Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND)
In affiliation with the Ohio and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, this active student group fosters professional, educational goals and interests in the fields of nutrition, food service management, and dietetics.
