Miami’s Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Undergraduate Endorsement Certificate will prepare you to work effectively with English learners.
Our courses provide real-world understanding and practical strategies to address the linguistic, cultural, and academic issues facing English learners and their teachers in schools.
Curriculum and Courses
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Undergraduate Endorsement Certificate provides undergraduate teacher licensure candidates the knowledge, skills, and experiences that will prepare them to meet the challenges of English learners in their classrooms. The TESOL endorsement consists of a three-course focus sequence, and a field-based teaching practicum experience with English learners in the schools. Open to all teacher licensure majors.

- TCE 454/554: TESOL in PK-12 Instructional Theory and Practice(Fall and Spring semesters)
- TCE 425: TESOL in PK-12 English Literacy Development (Spring semester only)
- TCE 418: TESOL in PK-12 Practicum (Fall and Spring semesters)
Admissions Requirements
Must be an undergraduate Education or Educational Psychology Inclusive Education (Dual Licensure) major.
