Shape Tomorrow’s Urban Spaces
The Urban and Regional Planning B.A. at Miami University empowers students to tackle real-world challenges through geographical thinking and innovative urban design. As a student in this urban and regional planning major, you’ll develop the skills to analyze urban problems, craft creative solutions, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable city growth.
Planners in this bachelor of urban planning program think critically and integratively about towns and cities, applying geospatial methods, urban planning classes, and data-driven analysis to address the needs of modern communities. With a strong foundation in city and urban planning, you’ll gain the tools to shape smart, inclusive, and resilient urban development.

Curriculum and Courses
This urban and regional planning major is interdisciplinary in scope. Administered by the Department of Geography, it includes courses from architecture, economics and business, political science, sociology, statistics, and sustainability. Students gain exposure to urban planning classes, community and regional planning, and develop a foundation in city and urban planning through a curriculum that integrates diverse perspectives and real-world applications.
