The World’s Biggest Challenges Require a Big-Picture Perspective
The Geography and Sustainable Development B.A. at Miami University prepares students to address urgent global challenges through a blend of social and environmental sciences. As a Geography and Sustainability major, you’ll explore the interconnected systems that shape our world, from climate change and urban planning to sustainable development and community resilience.
Geography is a big-data science that trains students in geospatial mapping and analysis while developing critical research, communication, and problem-solving skills. This interdisciplinary program equips students for impactful work in policy, social geography, and sustainable development geography.
Graduates with a Miami University Geography degree pursue meaningful careers in natural resource management, environmental consulting, city and urban planning, community development, and the growing field of geospatial technology.
