Develop innovative solutions while understanding artistic tradition. This program prepares you to earn a pre-professional degree (Bachelor of Arts in Architecture). Then, you can enter a professional graduate program to become a registered/licensed architect. Miami also offers a professional degree program for the Master of Architecture.

Courses in contemporary art history and the history of visual arts in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America are offered by professors who are specialists in these areas.
Career Options
With training in architecture, you are prepared to work in many fields. In addition to careers with private architectural firms, students can pursue jobs in commercial, industrial, and retail design; facilities management; real estate and development; engineering; sales and manufacturing; and museum and gallery management, design, and installation. You can also become a historian, theorist, or critic.

The Department requires submission of a creative portfolio in order to be admitted to the majors in Architecture or Interior Design. The portfolio is submitted directly to the Department by the application deadline and is reviewed in conjunction with academic qualifications.
